How do I create a DMP template for my multi-institution group/project?

How can a template I create be made available to the multi-institution community I serve?

Our organization is somewhat unique compared to your current contributing institutions in that we are not ourselves an institution. We would want our DMP template to be available to researchers in our field regardless of their institutional affiliation.

I see that in the current DMPTool, there is a drop-down list of templates available to all users based on the intended funding source of the proposal (e.g. Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, NIH, NSF-BIO, NSF-CHE). If we created a template intended for our community, could we have it appear in that list, making it available to all users?

We've written up some help documentation to assist users in performing these tasks: Creating Public Templates.

First, any template created by an administrator of any institution can be made publicly available. Simply select "Public" visibility on the template overview.

To provide resources or help text that the public can see, you need to work with the DMPTool team. The DMPTool was set up primarily to help administrators of formal institutions provide customization for only individuals from their institution. To provide resources, help text, etc. that anyone can see, follow the instructions in the help documentation.
